Specialist in magmatic petrology, geochemistry of magmatic processes, magma mixing, regional geology and geodynamics. His main scientific achievements are related to the studies of geodynamic and petrological types of ultramafic-mafic magmatism products in the northern areas of the Baikal fold region and the investigation of the formation sequence and conditions for large heterogeneous granitoid areal plutons in Western Transbaikalia.
